What the show covers

The venue says the first draws on habanera, candombe and European rhythms, and the Salons and Milongas part brings in the great golden-age orchestras. Other ways to see tango in the city

Buenos Aires has more than one way in. The city's official tourism site lists El Querandí among the traditional venues and its 'bares notables', worth a visit for the period decoration, and places fancier stage shows elsewhere. Beyond dinner shows it points to milongas, the social dances where locals dance into the early hours, many with a class beforehand, and to free concerts at some city venues. Every August the city hosts its International Tango Festival and World Cup, with free shows, classes and milongas.
